The Foundation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME Foundation)

The Foundation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME Foundation) was founded in 1992 as a result of the 19th International Small Business Congress, which was held in Poland. The primary objective of the Foundation is to provide comprehensive aid to small and medium-sized businesses in Poland. The Foundation’s mission is to propagate the development of small and medium-sized businesses, to support and co-ordinate activities leading to implement the initiatives of each ISBC. THE foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. It forms partnerships with economic institutions, organizations and businesses involved in craft, trade, micro-business and European integration development. The Foundation is a part of a National SME Services Network. Since 2001 it has been responsible for the administrative and technical implementation of EU assistance programmes as a Regional Financing Institution. The following are the most important areas of the Foundation’s activities: Polish Economic Forum for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, The Mazovian Entrepreneurs Meetings, training programmes and seminars, as well as Entrepreneurs, Club member meetings. The Foundation manages “PRO-EURO” – Finance and EU Information Centre, which functions as an information base for entrepreneurs on issues of business operations on the Single Market. The Foundation was the main co-coordinator and organizer of the 31st International Small Business Congress.
